Review of Musafir

I watched Musafir too! The names of characters are interesting. One is called Lucky the other Lukka, One is called Billa and the other Tiger. I am going to keep the chicks in the movie out since women in Sanjay Gupta's films have never mattered. The film is a decent watch for hard core buffs. Sanjay Dutt is Billa, another new age 'Bhai' from Mumbai who does hip hop, and drives a Harley Davidson. Billa has some great lines to his credit and most lines are derived from memorable old Hindi films and is refreshing. Anil Kapoor as Lucky is sincere as only he can be, though the fact that his era and time are the past reflects on screen. Mahesh Manjerekar as Lukka is ironically the best etched man especially his interactions with Lucky. The technique is flashy desi Tarantino, frames appear to be directly lifted from Oliver Stone's 'U-Turn', which 'inspires' the film as only Hindi films get inspired. The film is average watch for the buff, for the sceptical just stay away! I would just like to mention Sanjay Dutt and his experiments with the 'Bhai', they just keep getting exciting and extremely fascinating and gives me so many ideas. This is in context of his bhai role in the movie 'Plan'. In 'Plan', Dutt is this cool bhai called Musa who talks like your normal filmi tapori but wears Gucci shoes, Armani boots, Rolex ki Ghadi and has blond streaks in his hair, all suave and all. The movie was so bad but Musa was so cool.

*Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Mahesh Manjrekar and Aditya Pancholi
