Great, no doubt but making that one simple reading of society as the only reading...well...

i dont remember Hatya very well but I thought it was very good. And Govinda was great in Khuddar as the angry cop, despite the movie getting lost in that Sexy Sexy song controversy.

But getting personal, considering that movies are personal and flows out of world views...I dont see how personal is disrespecting privacy.....I think Karan Johar's movies are about himself or his saccharine induced world view...remember he has never seen the seamier side of Bombay slums or studying in Delhi and belonging to Bihar......and in my view this is a POV i can do without....

the kid Amitabh Bachchan was kidnapped in Shakti and therefore scarred for life....someone should have done that to Karan Johar...given him a nice taste of the other side...since he is so blind to it...despite I suppose seeing it through his car windows...maybe then we would have the perfect scarred individual giving us great movies with flawed and interesting characters....

and no not flawed as shah rukh is in KANKitineranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00764520998085530843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9390214.post-1156226558813121752006-08-22T11:32:00.000+05:302006-08-22T11:32:00.000+05:30No cause for lament..the only thing is he sort of ...No cause for lament..the only thing is he sort of gets personal, which borders on vindictiveness...

i always have an issue when the product is replaced by the producer...it is oky if we don't buy nike if they operate sweatshops, but not buying kingfisher becoz vijay mallaya is a rich casanova, hmmm...Agyanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14503056769448425400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9390214.post-1156217470977077012006-08-22T09:01:00.000+05:302006-08-22T09:01:00.000+05:30Why should there be any cause for lament if Pinto ...Why should there be any cause for lament if Pinto is harsh on whoever he wants to be harsh to?
If not anything his peice is quite amusing...made even more so by Satya's BOLD comments interspersed thoughfully......https://www.blogger.com/profile/14666991676879452204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9390214.post-1156150957912864472006-08-21T14:32:00.000+05:302006-08-21T14:32:00.000+05:30I sort of agree..Pinto writes very well..and frank...I sort of agree..Pinto writes very well..and frankly his assessment of the main plot of the movie is quite gd...he just forgot to add that srk's character cld never ever find happiness possibly.

the problem with this well-written piece is in an attempt to be funny, it generalises...didn't u like BArjatiya's early flicks in spite of their innanities...and DDLJ talked abt the same thing which both MTV's and CNN-IBN's youth poll confirmed..

you can't hold Karan Johar for being born with a silver spoon..i can imagine all the criticism of the movie. and no other movie this yr has evoked such extreme reactions..in fact i sort of took the middle gound. its the same thing like when Govinda tried to be serious in flicks like Hatya, Shikari, whatever, u wld not want him to act like Naseer or Aamir right!!Agyanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14503056769448425400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9390214.post-1156127454031275642006-08-21T08:00:00.000+05:302006-08-21T08:00:00.000+05:30This guy seems to have made a living out of being ...This guy seems to have made a living out of being overtly caustic. actually caustic is mild, Hes downright nasty most times. Don't know if u've read it or not, last yrs Outlook bollywood Special (I think, but abhi wud have a better idea) had this article by him on Bollywood Heroines and he had a ball screwing them..no pun intended. I think Abhi might have a copy if u want to read it.svetyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14334049900582397948noreply@blogger.com
